Convention of Maltese Living Abroad
The Conventions of Maltese Living Abroad were held in Valletta, Malta in 1969, 2000 and 2010.
The aim of these conventions is that of examining the progress and developments registered in regards to the protection of the rights and interests of Maltese living abroad. Community leaders and delegates from the Maltese diaspora are invited to give keynote speeches about various aspects and issues faced by the Maltese living overseas.
Achievements
- 2000 - Establishment of the Federation of Maltese Abroad (FOMA).
- 2010 - Establishment of the Federation of Maltese Living Abroad (FMLA).
- 2012 - Establishment of the Council for Maltese Living Abroad.
The 4th Convention of Maltese Living Abroad is to be held in 2015.
