Nestu Laiviera

Nestu Laiviera (29 February 1908 - 11 January 1984) was a Maltese politician and actor.

He started acting at a young age and performed at Valletta’s Royal Opera House. He acted along Charles Clews in Bormla before they became Dockyard colleagues. Nestu was employed as a submarine fitter and there he was one of the founders of Stage Commandos company. He was not only an actor but also the company’s committee President.

He remained in the Stage Commandos committee even when he decided to quit acting to start a career in politics. He was Malta Labour Party Member of Parliament for many years and twice President of the House of Representatives.
