Mark Vella was born in 1963. He started his piano studies at an early age and over the years he not only developed his playing skills but also an uncommon ability for composing in a wide range of musical styles.

At the age of eighteen Mark formed the rock band Stratkast, playing keyboards and composing all the material for the group. Mark can boast of musical products of national recognition. Besides a chart-topper with Stratkast, Mark's Rock Mass first celebrated by the Archbishop of Malta in 1983, echoed in Maltese churches for years.

In 1987, his music for the rock opera ISKRA brought Mark's name to the fore as one of the leading composers in the musical genre. Mark was also responsible for composing the music for the original musical Living Legends with book by Michael Piscopo and lyrics by Ray Tabone, which was staged at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in 1994.

His experience in professional studios abroad, where he has also undertaken relevant technical courses, have given Mark valuable knowledge which he puts into practice durng the recording of his works.
