Lejla Maltija is a musical project by Mario Cordina based in Szczecin, Poland, fusing Maltese folk music with funk, ska, and reggae.
The project was started on 26 March 2010.
The musicians involved in it are Mario Cordina, (guitars/vocals) Hose Jacek Lesiak (Bass), Manuel Matek Mater (guitars) Rodrigo Krzysztof Baranowski (keys/percussion).
The band produces original music based on Maltese traditional customs, rhymes, legends and songs. Lyrics are a wistful tale of Malta's glorious past and less fortunate moments in the islands' history.
