It never rains but it pours! Further to the Marsaxlokk Rock Festival, this weekend also happens to be that time of year when local biker club Rebel Riders stages its 2-day annual Rebelfest gathering. Now in its third year, Rebelfest has proved a popular attraction with the local rock crowd, particularly those with a love for outdoor events. The event evolved from the biker club’s annual ‘Kill the Pig’ camp into a weekend of music, food and sport.

This year’s event, which will be held at the Buskett Roadhouse, will in fact open around 7pm on Friday August 24 with a mixture of reggae and tribal music, peaking with a live performance by none other than Tribali, incidentally their last performance for this year. That same evening, there will also be a bike show. On Saturday, the evening will kick off at 7pm with a Pro Boxing tournament, followed by two of the best rock bands in Malta, Forsaken and Norm Rejection! The bike show will enter its judging stage, after which there will be the bikers’ traditional Pork Roast feast and rock music till late. Tickets are for sale at Aw Tribu of Zabbar Road, Fgura and from Wild Ones Rock Bar in Barnaba Street, Bugibba for the price of LM 3.50 per day or LM 5.50 for a 2-day pass.
