Mro. Giuseppi Zammit ġej minn familja mużikali. Missieru Michael u żijietu kienu kollha bandisti u nannuh, mingħandu kien ħa l-istruzzjoni mużikali tiegħu, kien is-Surmast magħruf Carmelo Zammit, id-Direttur tal-Banda mill-1875 sal-1919.

Guseppi Zammit issieħeb mal-Banda tal-Artillerija Rjali ta’ Malta, fejn kien idoqq l-ewfonju, il-baxx u għal xi żmien kien ukoll il-Maġġur tat-tanbur. Huwa ntbagħat jistudja barra u din tant affettwatu li rtira mis-settur pubbliku.

Minkejja l-perjodu qasir li għamel bħala direttur tal-Banda, minn 1924 sa 1929, Mro. Guseppi Zammit ħalla numru ta’ kompożizzjonijiet lill-Banda, fosthom is-Sinfonija Alba Novella, Marcia Sinfonica Amarti Sempre, il-Marċ Funebri Alla Memoria del Mro. Carmelo Zammit, apparti marċi festivi oħrajn.

Mro. Guseppi Zammit miet fid-19 ta’ Lulju 1971.
