Cornerstone, which makes part of the Awakening Asaph project, is a group of friends with a lot of similarities! We all love music and all believe that there is one true important thing in life…God. Matthew (Bass), Kurstein (Piano / Guitar), Jonathan (Keyboard), Mark (Acoustic) and Luan (vocals) met up in 2005 with the latest addition being Lesnich (drums.) The members of the group freely express themselves through music in worship and praise.

The main responsibility and engagement for Cornerstone is being the Worship team of the Faith Alive Teens and Youth Group in is-Siġġiewi, as well as animating Sunday mass for youths in Siggiewi, every other Sunday. Cornerstone, also had other engagements, such as animating other youth masses and activities all over Malta & Gozo. During the World Youth Day Celebrations of the 2005 in Germany, Cornerstone members were also involved in animating youth meetings and mass celebrations.

The band has various original songs through which the band tries to project a positive image towards youths. The songs are almost always written by input of all the members of the group, thus helping the group grow closer together.
