Voodoo Gurus is a musicial group from Gozo, active since 2012.

The band is composed of three English and two Maltese players: Sarah Hague: vocals; Ian Cox: saxophone and harmonica, Patrick Debrincat: guitar; Loretto Scicluna: bass and Martin South: percussion.

The band plays a mixture of Blues, Rock and Roll and Rockabilly inspired by such artists as: Imelda May, Carl Perkin, Elvis, Chuck Berry, Ruth Brown, Muddy Waters and Leadbelly to name a few! The band members have a wealth of experience.

Sarah, previously an actress has appeared in the West End and on numerous national tours, performing for and with artists such as Ray Davies from ‘The Kinks’.

Ian ran his own Blues Band in the South of England and is owner of ‘Dog Rock’ promotions. He has played with many popular artists such as Ramon Goose and Alison Moyet.

Patrick has a passion for the guitar, buying his first at the age of 14. He moved to Australia at 17 and bought a Fender Stratocaster with his first wage packet! He has been playing in bands ever since.

Loretto has played in bands in Australia and Gozo. He is a well-known character and can often be seen in church bands before dashing off to a Voodoo Gurus gig! Martin has been heavily involved in the Manchester music scene since the 90's, and he played in the popular drum and bass group 'Azkim' and internationally renowned blues outfit 'The Swamp Knobs'.

The band has performed at numerous venues in Malta and Gozo, both private and public, including festivals such as Sannat, Gharb, Xagħra and Qala where they had a live web feed to Australia. They are actually working on writing their own material.
