Valentina Farrugia

Valentina Farrugia was born on the 7 of October 1994. Born into a musical family, daughter of writer/songwriter and broadcaster Joe Julian Farrugia, she was always surrounded by music and was often chosen among her school colleagues to sing in musicals and other school events.

She also used to co-present with her sister Clara Farrugia on television starting off at the age of seven with a game and talent show for children Dr Peel.

Wishing to pursue a singing career, she started taking vocal lessons under the tutorship of Doreen Galea, later moving to classical training at Beatrice Brockdorff’s and then under Marvic Lewis Indigo for a jazzy touch.

Valentina performed in hotels, various villages, bars, the beer festival and in a rock opera Ġensna in concert. She was a finalist in the category for established singers in Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza 2011 with song Int Biss and in the 2014 edition with song Hemm Int. She also played a singing/acting role in the 2012 Christmas Panto with 14 performances at the Catholic Institute.

For two years, Valentina was one of the resident singers during popular television game-show Ħadd Għalik.

During Malta Song For Europe 2014 contest, Valentina was backing vocal to Ryan Abela's song City Lady, composed by Paul Abela and her father Joe Julian Farrugia.

Valentina graduated BA (Hons) in Maltese, University of Malta and is presently doing a post-graduate course.

Libran by sign, Valentina is a very caring youth who loves arts with an attention to detail. She is always in search of adventure and new experiences.
