Thomas Hedley

Thomas Hedley (born 7 June 1974) is a singer-songwriter and keyboard player from Cospicua, Malta. He lives in Marsaskala but as he is of British ancestry.


He started singing and writing songs at age 12.

Thomas Hedley writes very catchy and heartfelt tunes, almost always involving love of some kind, and simple and commonly-used lyrics.

His single Is it too late, has been described by Template:Citation-needed as ' out of your many good songs, this one in particular plays perfectly to your strengths vocally, lyrically and musically', and 'this track is ready-made for a rock classic'.

2007 was very crucial to Thomas's musical future,when he released no less than 5 singles, {can we name them?} all making it in the top 40 charts of local radio stations, and being requested by many people.

Thomas was nominated for the 'best newcomer' award, both in the Malta music awards and the Bay Radio music awards held in 2007 ,and his song My First Love' was an instant hit. In the last week of January, Going Down, a slow, powerful,reflective song,has been released, airing on local radios and reaching the top 40 charts and top 10 maltese charts on 897 bay...the band gigged at V5 bar in February, and then again at Rookies in May.

The good-mood brit pop song Put Your Hands Up was released in July, among a bit of controversy. Some local radio stations deemed in too brit pop,and did not play it. Other stations played it and it was heavily requested, reaching the top 20 countdown show both on xfm and super one.

The band's most visible gig so far this year was at the Farsons Great Beer Festival, where they played the rock arena on Thursday 31st July, to a packed crowd.

September saw the release of the new single Pretend, a powerful uptempo pop rock song, in the style of Still Miss You So, the first single.

The first 8 singles are going to be the backbone of Thomas Hedley's first album.

Thomas was nominated for Best Male artist at the Malta Music Awards, and December has seen the much awaited Big 40 event,at Chiaroscuro Valletta, where the crowd was big and wonderful, and the event was a success.

For Christmas 2008, his song, Is It Too Late?, was awarded the 'record of the year' on Radio Six Scotland

2009

Thomas Hedley and his band got a good set together,and a new single out, In Ecstasy. The band performed their single during the May 1st celebrations,and were guests during the Malta Fashion Awards.

They did 2 live gigs, and ended in style with a very good performance at the Farsons Great Beer Festival.

2010

Thomas has worked on a more definite style,and Released the single That's What You Are. He started collaborating with top UK mixing engineer and producer Dan P, Steve Mac colleague, who has had 44 UK no1's as a mixing engineer. His new single is called Turn Off the Lights.

2011

A new single called Back in Time was released, receiving considerable airplay. It was also played as the opening track on the 250th Mużika Mod Ieħor podcast on Saturday 19 March 2011.
