Silly question, but I assume that marking the page with the MT marker specifies that a parallel translation must be provided, not that the Maltese content be replaced entirely? In which case we should probably consider how to mark this up, especially where original source materials or reference may only be available in Maltese Stephensd (talk) 22:12, 20 June 2013 (UTC)

That's not a silly question! We don't have a policy or any sort of guidelines as to what to do with Maltese text just yet. This is the first step towards getting there. Ideally sooner rather than later. At least we now have a way to mark/tag Maltese text entries. This merits some thought at the planning stage. There's probably room for a Maltese language namespace. We need to think about the fact that some entries will be in Maltese only or English only for a long period of time, if not forever. We may need different types of tags to mark texts available in both languages, texts needing translation, text in Maltese needing cleanup because they're just a data dump from some press release, personal email or website. etc. As you can see, not a task to be taken lightly or one that can be resolved with the creation of a simple tag like the one I've just created here. --Toni Sant (talk) 10:26, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
