The Sine Macula Choir was set up in 1983 as a liturgical group animating ceremonies in the parish church of Safi. The choir was set up on the initiative of the the Parish Priest of Safi, Rev Fr Mike Agius. The first service was the First Holy Communion of 1983 on the 29th May.

The choir took part in Massed Choirs which animated the Mass on the occasion of the Pope’s two visits to Malta in 1990 and won 2nd place in National Pauline Festival in 1991.

During the German Maltese Week of 1991, the choir gave concerts at the Casino Maltese, St Julian’s Parish Church, Sannat Gozo and Safi together with the orchestra from Fachhochschule Ulm, Germany. The choir also participated in four editions of the Malta International Choir Festivals (November 1995, 1997, 2003 & 2006)

In 1997, working together with the Queen Victoria Band of Zurrieq (a neighbouring village), the choir launched a CD with traditional Maltese and international Christmas carols

In December 2000, launched the CD VERBUM DEI CARO FACTUM EST; this CD tells the Christmas story; music was composed by Tony Pace; CD sponsored by Preca Library, Malta

Participated in the 3rd edition of the International Choir Festival of Trecastagni (province of Catania, Sicily) in December 2001

On the 6th February 2004 the Oratorio IL-MIĠJA TAL-KAPUĊĊINI F'SANT ANTNIN TA' GHAJN DWIELI was performed. Lyrics were written by C Bianchi, music was composed by Tony Pace

An important achievement of the Sine Macula Choir was the First Place achieved in the Christmas Choir Festival organized by the Malta Trade Fair Corporation at Naxxar in December 2004
