Ruth Frendo

Ruth Frendo was born on the 19th May 1979 and was raised in Birkirkara. She lives at Ħamrun and she is married to Charlo Carmel Bonnici. Ruth Frendo is one of the most established and popular producers, presenters and scriptwriters in Malta. She taken her education at St Theresa Junior Lycieum at Mrieħel.

With a whole variety of successful programmes under her belt, she has managed to capture a wide range of audiences of all ages. Ruth’s media career started in 2000. Right after finishing drama school, she auditioned for a role in the blockbuster film Gladiator, which was shot in Malta.

Weeks later, Ruth found herself on the set of Gladiator and acting alongside Oscar-winner Russell Crowe. The editing department left two memorable scenes including the one in which she is kissing Russell on his cheek. Through the years, Ruth had the opportunity to work as an actress in a variety of local and international movies, television series and soap operas.

For two years she was the PRO, as well as a member of the board, of a prestigious international song contest. Moreover, for two and a half years, she acted as the drama coach of a well-known television programme for which she had to cast and rehearse hundreds of both established as well as new actors.

Furthermore, Ruth lent her voice to various radio plays and voice-overs. Last but not least, Ruth has a Masters degree specialized in Professional Communication (with the University of Sheffield Hallam, UK) and has attended a number of courses related with production, storytelling, script writing, marketing and distribution and producing, not only in Malta but also overseas.
