Robert Cefai

Robert Cefai (born 17 November 1943) is a cultural organiser from il-Gżira.

Robbie, as he is better known, served in the British Army and later in the Armed Forces of Malta before resigning in1981 to take up the post as cultural organiser in the Ministry of Culture.

On the twenty three years that he served as Culture Organizer his duties included the organization of many Cultural Activities including The Malta Jazz Festival and was also the Secretary of The Song Festival Board organizing the Song For Europe Festival for eighteen consecutive years, which saw Malta achieving prestigious placing.

Together with Norman Hamilton he organized the very first International Festival of Maltese Song in 1981. And from that on was involved in many other Festivals.

He accompanied many Maltese artists abroad and served in many juries both locally and in international festivals.

He is the Secretary of the song festival board organizing the Malta International TV Song Festival.

In July 2009 he was elected the first Secretary General of the newly formed organization. World Association of Festivals and Artists WAFA.
