His first music productions started a few years later when he got interested in writing and producing songs for Maltese song contests. He always believed that to write and compose good pop music in Malta, one had to have his own working space and not depend on others.
With this principle in mind he started his own recording studio were apart from producing his own works he also worked and collaborated with other writers in song arranging and engineering. He never considered himself as a "composer" despite he wrote and published songs in various genres between 1998 and 2003 mainly for Maltese song contests.
 
During this six year period he worked with the majority of the maltese popular singers and writers. In 2004 he left Malta to pursue his production studies in UK. He got a Masters Degree in Music Engineering and Production at the University of South Wales. Following the degree he started lecturing at the same university and doing freelance production work around UK.
 
In 2007 Renè took a year off from the musical activities but was soon back to business when he was appointed as a music teacher back in Malta at the Johann Strauss music school. He also reinvented himself in music production by shifting his focus away from the maltese festival main stream music to a more refined art. For these last few years he started specializing in classical music productions ranging from solo works, chamber projects to orchestra concerts.
 
Apart from working closely with the [[Malta Philharmonic Orchestra]], he also worked and produced projects for Maltese fine artists like [[Miriam Cauchi]], [[Joanne Camilleri]], [[Gjorgji Cincievski]],  [[Clare Ghigo]] and [[Gillian Zammit]].
 
He made signature tunes  Children s program ,Tv and radio, teens programs, drama (about 6) and many  songs arrangements and others Number of fully produced songs never released.
 
Apart from his production career, Rene is currently following a path for a doctorate degree with the University of South Wales.
