In Melbourne he has folksung in the main għana locations including Ir-Rampa,the Albion Club and the premises of Ġorġ Aquilina ż-Żgħir, with Salvu Brincat Il-Ħajbru, Salvu Zerafa l-Kampanjol, Fredu Cachia l-Fra and veteran Gozitan folk singer Ġużeppi Azzopardi Ras Il-Bagħal.

Around 2001 Gatt folksung with the noted Salvu Galea Tal-Kalora, in honour of folk music promoter Ġorġ Ebejer Il-Giża. Gatt is a frequent visitor to his homeland, where he enjoys taking part in ongoing folk music sessions.
