Clean-up Needed

The text currently on this page needs further work. It was most likely imported or reproduced from a website associated with the subject of the page - possibly through a process involving far-from-perfect machine translation, often with awkward results. It is awaiting the attention of an experienced M3P editor, which could be you. It may be slightly out of date, or may need other elements taken care of appropriately, including proofreading or copy-editing for grammar and style.

Born in 1960, Ray manifested his passion for music early in his teens, when he participated successfully in a television quiz about the international pop scene.

Later, he formed his own band, Black Max, which had a short but interesting life. In 1981, Ray made his stage debut in the role of Simon Zealotes in a local production of Jesus Christ Superstar staged by the Rock Opera Group of his hometown, Birgu.

This was followed by a minor participation in Evita, another Lloyd-Webber musical which was also Ray's biggest and most chaIlenging achievement was writing the lyrics for ISKRA, a rock opera about the Russian Revolution which was performed for the first time in February 1987.

Ray was also responsible for writing the lyrics of the original musical Living Legends with book by Michael Piscopo and music by Mark Vella, which was staged at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in 1994. Ray also wrote or co-wrote songs for several local bands and artists, participating in a number of festivals and concerts.
