Quicksand

Quicksand is a band formed in the summer of 2007. The core members of the band have been playing together for many years in different line-ups and have been friends from their school days. The first project undertaken by the band was the participation in the KDZ World Youth Day 2008 contest held in December 2007.

Quicksand won the contest with the newly composed song Ħu Magħna llum. Apart from being the Maltese World Youth Day 2008 theme song, Ħu Magħna llum has also been chosen to be the theme song for the Maltese Pentecost celebrations for 2008 and has been included in the Awakening Asaph compilation launched in June 2008.

From its inception, Quicksand members were always keen to spread a positive message through their music and have helped in the animation of various youth gatherings and celebrations. Furthermore, the band owns a small studio where the band members spend a lot of time recording new material whilst constantly improving the band’s sound and production techniques. To date, the band has recorded a number of guitar instrumentals and plans are under way to start recording instrumental versions of Maltese liturgical songs. Visit Quicksand’s myspace in order to keep updated on all the new material from the band.
