My First EP is the debut release by the Maltese rock trio Cable 35 on meet&greet records. It was released on Friday 9 November 2007 at the Poxx Bar in Paceville with BNI headlining the gig. [1]

Packaged in decidedly eye-catching shocking pink the EP features six songs brimming with melodies that are hard to forget. The songs are connected on some level, but each one seems to point away from the punk epicentre in different directions, feeding off a pop inclination.

The EP was recorded, produced and mixed by David Vella at Temple Studios in 2007. The sleeve artwork and design is by Cedric Vella. The logo is by Jamin Galea.

In an interview with Michael Bugeja for the Sunday Times in 2007, they explained that “The first track (Wasted Away) has been there longer than the others” and "we’ve been listening to loads of stuff; ska, indie, reggae, grunge..." In the same interview, they also maintained that they "still love the happy punk stuff but we also want to explore another side – one that also allows elements from other genres, but we won’t give up our punk roots." [2]

The most obvious divergence from their initial basic sound can be heard on Animal Rules, which is definitely more elaborate than the rest of the EP.

A Beautiful Story was identified as a first single from Cable 35 and received considerable radio airplay in Malta in 2007.
