Mro. Dominic Darmanin

Mro. Dominic Darmanin was born in Valletta in 1962. He made his musical studies at the age of 9 years, the Salesian school in St Patrick's in Sliema.

Learn the trombone under the direction of Mro. Anthony Zammit and later, under the guidance Mro. Paul Borg which acquired three diplomas: ALCM. LLCM, and FLCM. He studied harmony and kuntrapunt at the late Mro. Carmelo Pace at Prof, Charles Zammit A.Mus.LCM where he graduated with a diploma.

In 1993 he was appointed musical director of the Soċjeta Filarmonika Pinto Banda San Sebastjan , founded The Pinto Brass Band and inaugurated the first series of Kunċerti Sinfoniċi.

He is also the founder of the first quartet of trombone Malta entitled 'The Four tenor. He worked for seven years as a musician's Orchestra with the Manoel Theater. He is a member with the Versatile Brass Band and former Freddie Mizzi Big Band. Composer of several marches for band, marches and even funeral marches. Composed well a series of classic works for band.

In 2008 he was appointed musical director of the Philharmonic Society Nazionele La Valeltte. Are currently a teacher of Music, education of Physics and Mathematics at school Salesians of St. Patrick's.
