“If your ears ain't ringing at the end of the show....it wasn’t loud enough!” This is how most rock festivals strut their stuff for rock fans to gather round! It is also how a certain Chris Grillo had commented about a particular rock festival that took place last year in the south of the island. That festival was the Marsaxlokk Rock Festival, and this weekend, precisely Saturday August 25, this fishing village will once again host the third edition of this much-anticipated rock event.

As in previous editions, the organization has been ably handled by Mario Cassar with the support of the Marsaxlokk Local Council, the event’s official sponsor. In view of the lack of such events in Malta, the council’s initiative is to be strongly commended and hopefully emulated by other localities. As usual, entrance to the event will be free; another point that should be applauded, particularly since there will be not one, but four bands performing on the night. These are B.N.I., who have recently returned from a successful UK festival appearance; X-Vandals, Angelcrypt and last but not least, Stillborn, who will be promoting their soon-to-be-released debut CD album. As with last year’s edition, this year’s Marsaxlokk Rock Festival promises an evening of sturdy punk rock and metal performed by some of the island’s top acts in their respective genres!
