From the younger age of 5 years he had already started to learn the guitar at the late [[Johnny Mick]] passed away some time ago. At 10 years was already well-familiar with classical guitar and young age he was taking part in various social activities. Taken his education at [[Stella Maris College]].

Martin began his career at 16 years when he plays in an establishment [[Caravel Night Club]], [[Qui-Si-Sana]] which today no longer exists. Of by starting that with Martin began play music as a pianist [[Paul Giordimaina]] that definitely should not need any introduction.
At  the age of 10 years Martino Gilardo had already shown great improvement in classical guitar playing and on many occasions he performed during various occasions and social activities.
Martino Gilardo had his school education at the [[Archbishop’s Seminary]] and at [[Stella Maris College]].


A year after, Martin granted year contract in [[Piper Night Club]] which was located also in  Qui-Si-Sana, which had already began to show itself active in Italian singing. Here's one could mention that with Martin was the singer [[Godwin Lucas]] plays the keyboard.
Martin began his musical carrier at the age of 16 years when he was employed as a guitarist and singer wth a local band at the [[Caravel Night Club]], [[Qui-Si-Sana]] which unfortunately had closed doors some years ago together with other two other nightclubs namely, [[Dragut]] and [[Piper Club]]. This group consisted of [[Alfred Zammit]] on saxophone, Martin Cordina as singer guitarist, [[Charles Cuschieri]] on the drums and the well known [[Paul Giordimaina]] who was still 16 years of age on the piano.  


Two years after Martin Cordina entered as bassesit with the same [[Johnny Mick Band]] at Club of [[Salina Bay Hotel]], today know as [[Coastline Hotel]].
After performing at the Piper Club for two years Martin Cordina joined the well know band at that time [[The Johnny Mick Band]] at the [[Phareohs Den Night Club]] of [[The Salina Bay Hotel]], today know as [[Coastline Hotel]].

During that same period the band had been approached by the director of the Greek cruise ship holdings ''Epirotiki Lines'', situated in ''Piraeus'', Greece where they were offered a year’s  work contract on the cruise ship ''Apollon 11''.

Within one week [[Johnny Mick Band]], with Martin as bassesit and singer went to Greece and made work on cruise year. Here's one could saying that with Martin was also as a singer [[Freddie Castelletti]].
After the termination of their contract, the band returned to Malta and Martin soon signed another contract with the musical group [[The Starlights]]  performing nightly at [[The Gardens Night Club]], in [[Swieqi]]. The group consisted of Maestro [[Joe Brown]] on keyboards/singer; Martin Cordina on bass and singer; [[Chris Scicluna]] on guitar and singer; and [[Paolo Falletta]] on drums and singer.
However after termination of contract Martin joined the army and a year later he joined the [[Malta Police Force]] where he spent 27 years finishing his grade in the Force to that of Sergeant Major.


When Martin was back in [[Malta]] he found waits contract in the [[Gardens Night Club]], at [[is-Swieqi]] with Mro. [[Joe Brown]] which made some year-low plays the singing. It was a lovely time because the group had several function and states that as a singer had to [[Marisa D'Amato]] in her begaining career, was also a member of the Force.
Two years after joining the Police Force, Martin was promoted to the grade of Police Sergeant and was very dedicated in Police work.

And every Thursdays between 5pm to 7pm got another programm '''CANZONE''' agian on BKR RADIO 94.5 FM live. And every Fridays got another programm '''IL KANTANT TAL-GIMGĦA''' from 8pm to 9pm.

Maltese singer & guitarist Martin Cordina born on the 20 May, 1956 in Sliema, better known as Martino Gilardo.
