Mark Laurence Zammit born on 13 April 1992. At Victoria Hospital, at Gozo, lived in Malta and spend the week-end at Sannat with his family.
Mark Laurence is Gozitan journalist, TV producer, presenter, writer and composer. He graduated with a B.A. in Communication Studies and Maltese from the University of Malta in 2013 and is currently undergoing a Masters Degree in Maltese at the same University.
He is mostly known for his work on Malta's most popular talk show Xarabank, in which he is a journalist, producer, presenter and music coordinator. He was also one of the producers of Bijografiji, the most watched documentary programme in Malta. His latest biography was the History of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, aired on TVM in April 2014. He also produced and directed TaBarraMinnHawn, a documentary about scientific research in Malta; a co-production of WE Media and the University of Malta, aired on TVM in September 2013 during Science in the City. He was also one of the Producers for the daily current affairs programme TVHemm between 2012 and 2013.
Zammit is the author of a couple of children's books, namely Is-Sette Giugno and L-Avventuri ta' Veru ta' Pina u Salvinu and writes and composes songs for Maltese singers. He has been playing in l-Għanja tal-Poplu since 2008. In 2012, his song Mhux Illum won best interpretation and in 2014 his song Pupa sung by Denise Spiteri won best young talent during l-Għanja tal-Poplu. He was the keyboard player with three Maltese bands between 2010 and 2013 and the keyboard player in Xarabank between 2013 and 2014. He played with Gaia Cauchi, Veronica Rotin, Margaret Camilleri (Morena), Rita Pace, Fabrizio Faniello, his father Teddie Zammit and Corazon Mizzi amongst others.
Between 2011 and 2014 Mark Laurence Zammit created, wrote, produced and directed Dun Ġorġ il-Musical the first ever live, original, youth-administered, voluntary-based Musical Production in Malta. It involved at least 120 youths, including producers, directors, designers, actors, singers and live orchestra. The production was translated in Italian, staged and sold out five times in Gozo (November 2013), twice in Malta (September 2014) and twice in Catania, Sicily (April 2015).
He also occupied the role of Production Manager in the local feature film Three Generations Down and the role of Artistic Director in the Gozo Christian Music Festival 2015.
Mark Laurence Zammit played the leading roles in various locally-produced stage productions, namely Jisimni Ġovanni (2005), Il-Ħolma ta' Ġużeppi (2010), Padre Pio (2011), Il-Miraklu ta' Marċellino (2012), Franġisku u Kjara (2014), Spring's Awakening (2010), Stella u Leone (2012), Immaculate (2012) The Jeweller's Shop (2014) and Il-Klassi II Z (2013).
