She started out by taking up vocal tuition at [[Future Voices Studio]], led by [[Iona Dalli]] and she was part from the [[Future Voices Choir]], then moved on to pratising the guitar, the trumpet with her local band club [[Soċjeta Filarmonika La Stella]], Gudja, and she can also play the keyboard /piano.

She also likes to give original twists such as rap verses to cover songs. Marija’s career was boosted mainly after her entrance in one of the most well known singing competitions in Malta; ‘X Factor Malta’ in which she managed to make it through to the Judges’ Houses phase.
