Maria Muscat ‘La Barokka’

Maria Muscat, ‘La Barokka’ born in Birkirkara on 19 August 1977. She is a Journalist and Singer.

She has started her career in journalism in 1996, while he was running at the Communication University course at the University of Malta. The first involvement was with RTK as a journalist and a few months later was one of the journalists who along with Peppi Azzopardi started popular program on TVM Xarabank.

With RTK, Maria Muscat made a total of 7 years, with her last year at this station had run the newsroom. After work requested by the company One Productions where for 9 years worked with One News and apart from producing news for TV and Radio, produced and presented a number of television programs including Menz, Kwarta Kultura, and Barokka.

After 9 years with One Productions, Maria Muscat was recruited as a journalist in the newsroom of TVM, where he reinforced the popularity of its direct reports in the news, and human stories.

As a singer history began at the age of 16 years where Trainee under the soprano Antoinette Miggiani, but after taking support from various teachers including by Jackie Micallef Grimaud. She worked in several musicals including Inez Farruġ main parts, Ġahan, and Alibaba, but throughout her career Maria, of several concerts, a total of 9 concerts in Malta and 3 abroad.

The last concert held in Malta was on 2009 and broadcast on TVM. Abroad of two concerts in the U.S., and one in Brussels. Maria knows as ‘La Barokka’ issued her last album out in 2009 with the title of FAITH.
