Maria Christina Desira

Maria Christina Desira born on August 18, 1998. lives in Mosta. She is a singer from Malta.

Attended the school of St Monica School in Birkirkara. Maria Christina started singing at the age of 4 and the passion and love for music never stopped. Maria Christina apart from singing she also plays the piano. She started playing the piano at the age of seven. At this time she is in Grade 8, theory and Grade 7, piano. Maria Christina studies at Junior College in l-Imsida and for the future she wishes to be an accountant. She is also studying voice techniques and doing vocal exams.

For many years she formed part of Singer Stage Academy under the direction of Kaya Priscilla Giordano Psaila.

Maria Christina apart from singing as a solo she sings with a great friend of her Justine Delmar, it’s because of music that they have met and became great friends. Together they have made huge success. Starting with the most important success in their career together is the [[Malta Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2010]. They sang the song Love to Share and placed runners up with the same points as the winning song. Also in the same year they took part in two other local competitions.

They took part in the Bronk’s Festival, Ilwien Muzikali 2010 with the song Arana and together they placed first place. Also, in that same year they took part in the Euro Stars Festival with the song Staġuni and they won the Grand Prix also known as the overall. A year later, in 2011 they went to Romania and they took part in an International Festival, named the Carpathian Festival and they won first place. In 2012 they took part in the well known local festival, Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza - Talent Żgħażugħ, in the section and they placed in second place with the song Ħbieb ta’ Veru.

Maria Christina participated in many local festivals and also International song festivals. She went to Italy, Romania, Poland and Estonia. In 2011, in Romania in the Carpathian Festival she placed third place from 35 contestants and in Poland she achieved the first place with the Italian cover version of Mia Martini, Gli Uomini Non Cambiano, from 42 contestants.. Also in Estonia she placed fourth place with another Italian song of Emma Marrone, Non e l’Inferno.
