Marama Corlett

Marama Corlett (born 3 May 1991) is a Maltese actress and dancer, based in London and best known for her role as Rina in the 2012 television series Sinbad, entirely filmed in Malta.

Marama was born and raised in Malta, as one of four sisters. Her father is from New Zealand, and her mother from Malta.

Marama began her career as a professional ballet dancer with the company Ballet Russ de Malt in Malta, before moving to England to further pursue her ballet career. She later transitioned to acting. Marama's first role was in 'The Devil's Double' in 2011 directed by Lee Tamahori, starring Dominc Cooper. She went on to perform in the West End 2011 production of 'The Children's Hour' directed by Ian Rickson (Jerusalem), opposite Ellen Burstyn and Keira Knightley. Marama played the series regular role of Rina in the television drama 'Sinbad' for Sky Atlantic and on SyFy in the US. Marama's other credits include the feature films 'Desert Dancer' alongside Freida Pinto, 'Maleficent' with Angelina Jolie and 'The Goob' with Sean Harris, the TV series 'Dovekeepers' for CBS and 'AD - The Bible Continues,' on NBC and the West End production of 'The Crucible' at The Old Vic Theatre with Richard Armitage. Marama has recently wrapped on 'Sick Note', a new dark comedy series for Sky Atlantic, playing the series regular role of Linda, alongside Rupert Grint, Don Johnson and Nick Frost. Marama is currently shooting 'Blood Drive' playing the series regular role of Aki.
