Trivia

2002 marked a change in the voting system with the reintroduction of juries as well as televoting in many countries.

Malta and Latvia watched with bated breath as the two countries battled it out, with Malta narrowly missing out on winning the ESC.

Ira Losco’s performance was dynamic, helped by a white lace skin-tight cat suit and a handful of glitter which Ira blew into the camera towards the end of her song.

This was the second song by Philip Vella and Gerard James Borg to appear at the Eurovision Song Contest. Their first entry was to be sung by Claudette Pace in 2000. They also wrote Malta's 2004 entry, On Again...Off Again sung by Julie & Ludwig, Oliva Lewis' Vertigo in 2007 and Vodka by Morena in 2008.

At the time of her Eurovision appearance, Ira formed part of the Maltese band Tiara. She released a solo album in 2005, called Accident Prone.

The songs were shown in reverse in the reprise to establish some equality.
