The Malta Song For Europe 2008 Festival was organized by the Ministry of Youth and Culture under the auspices of Minister Dr Francis Zammit Dimech, the Festival was held on 24 and 26 January 2008 at the Malta Fairs and Convention Centre at Ta’ Qali.

The Organising Committee for this Festival was made by Robert Abela as the chairman of the Festival, John Demanuele as the Deputy Chairman, Martin Gauci Secretary and Valerie Vella PRO, Steve Aquilina, Joseph Dalmas, Frans Fenech, Anton Miceli, Marbeck Spiteri and Mike Spiteri as members

Over two hundred submissions were narrowed down to 36 and on the 9th January 2008 seventeen songs made it to this year's Malta Song for Europe festival.

The winning song, which will represent Malta in Serbia during the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest semi-final in May, was selected through public televoting (80%) and jury board (20%). The finalists will be selected by an international panel of judges.

The program of the Festival was so

Thursday 24 th January 2008 at 7.30pm

Sung the Seventeen semi finalist Songs. Show by Chiara and Ruth Sammut Casingena. Time to know the eight songs that will be in the Final Night

Saturday 26 th January 2008 at 7.30pm

Sing Olivia Lewis the winner of the Malta Song For Europe 2007. Sung the Eight Finalist Songs. Show by Sway Latin Dance Company. Show by Natalie Gauci winner of the Australian Idol. Show by Chiara, Ruth Sammut Casingena and Mike Spiteri. Band was leaded by Aldo Spiteri and Jesmond Baldacchino.

Winners must been know and becomes the Presentation by Hon. Minister Mr. Francis Zammit Dimech.
