On 24 March 2017 was Publishing the Application Forms and Regulations for the Malta Junior Eurovision Song 2017 to choose the Maltese rappresented for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2017 this year will be held in Tbilisi, Georgia on the 26 November, 2017.

The organizers PBS, Public Broadcasting Services Ltd, published a call for applications for artists aged between 9 and 14 years.

The Applicants must submit cover versions, which are to be delivered to PBS on a CD including a full playback version (including voice) and also a backing track excluding the voice.

PBS Ltd. will nominate a professional jury wherein all the songs will be heard and judged on the CD submitted by each applicant. During this phase a total of 10 songs will be shortlisted. For the final phase, the shortlisted artists will be required to sing in front of a jury, a viva voce, wherein a winner will be selected to represent Malta in Georgia. There will be no audience present during the selection of the winner.

The winning artist will perform, during the JESC, a song chosen by PBS. And Malta’s representative in the JESC 2016 may not participate, Eligible artists are children who are Maltese nationals.

PBS shall finance the participation, flight from Malta (and return) and accommodation, of the child artist and one parent/legal guardian. No further remuneration will be given.

All participating child artists bind themselves not to take part in talk shows, interviews or any other programmes dealing with their participation in this song selection, be it on television, on radio, on printed media or on the web. If necessary, PBS will take care to give equal publicity to the finalists.

All decisions taken by PBS, in all stages are final, binding and non-appealable.

The 20 Finalist

On Saturday 20 May, 2017 was annouced the 20 finalist for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2017. This year 84 singers submited there songs who were a cover versions.

Originarly 10 songs where made it to the final. But the Head Executtiv John Bundy said that they found a lot of great talent, and they decided to choose 20 finalist and from them must choose 10 finalist songs for the final night.

The Final night will shown on TVM on a special night and the winner who will be rappresent Malta in Georgia next November, will be choose by a 100 percent televoting by the public.

The 10 Finalist

On Monday 29 May, 2017 was annouced the 10 finalist singers for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2017. This year 84 singers submited there songs who were a cover versions.

Alfred the Head Executtiv John Bundy said that in this year the talent was so great, that decided to choose 20 finalist, and from them must choose 10 finalist songs for the final night.

The Final night will shown on TVM on a special night and the winner who will be rappresent Malta in Georgia next November, will be choose by a 100 percent televoting by the public.

The Final Night

The Malta Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be held on the 1st July, 2017 at 18:15, in PBS studios. The show is going to be broadcasted live, where we will watch and listen to the 10 finalists perform their entry. Once again the winner will be determined by 100% televoting at the end of the 10 performances.

Each telephone line is equivalent to 1 vote and the call costs €1.00 + applicable normal call charges. Those who will vote for their favourite song will get the chance to be the winners of a hoverboard or any of the three 17″ tablets that will be drawn after the contest.
