Malta Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2005

During the press conference, Ms. Grace Borg, chairperson of the Maltasong Board declared that the board was satisfied with the record number of entries that were submitted for this year's selection.

The 146 entries will be judged by a first panel of juries on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th August, 2005. 60 entries will go through to the second phase. On 3rd September, a different panel of juries will judge the 60 entries on their live performance. The public will not have access to this phase as it will be held behind closed doors. 16 finalists will make it from this round on to the junior national final to be held on Saturday 24th September 2005 at the Sir Temi Zammit Hall at Tal-Qroqq . The final will have a live broadcast on TVM and streamed live on di-ve.com.

Thea and Friends will represent Malta in the third Junior Eurovision Song Contest with their song “Make it Right”. Thea and Friends were chosen as the Maltese representatives on Saturday evening. They will be performing their winning song at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest which will be held in Hasselt, Belgium on 26th November, 2005.

Saturday’s show started at 20.40 CET, held at the UIniversity of Malta. 16 finalists took part in the final night. Thea and Friends were proclaimed winners at 22.50CET through televoting and The decision of a jury.
