The Event

The semifinal and final sessions will be broadcast live on TVM. The hosts are ? and ?, both former Malta Eurovision Song Contest winners. ? will be providing links for the Red Carpet and backstage. The winner of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2015 will become Malta's entry to the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest to be held in [[ ]], Sweeden.

Preliminary round

On the 11th December, Xarabank will kick-off for another season, and it will do so with a bang, as the revelation of the acts through to the semi-final of the 2016 edition of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest will be made public. Following the initial submission process, where the Public Broadcasting Services received 153 entries, a shortlist of 49 entries has now been published through the official website.

A preliminary selection round determined the 49 songs on 3 December, 2015. From them must been chose 20 song to be performed at the semifinal of the 2015 edition of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest.

These could be announced during a kick-off edition of the popular TVM programme Xarabank on Friday 11 December, 2015.
