The Rules

The Event

The semifinal and final sessions will be broadcast live on TVM on 22nd and 23rd January 2016. at the Mediterranean Conference Centre at Valletta. The hosts are Ben Camill (Camilleri),presenting and make links form the greenroom.

The winner of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2015 will become Malta's entry to the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Stockhlom, Sweeden.

Preliminary round

On the 11th December, Xarabank will kick-off for another season, and it will do so with a bang, as the revelation of the acts through to the semi-final of the 2016 edition of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest will be made public. Following the initial submission process, where the Public Broadcasting Services received 153 entries, a shortlist of 49 entries has now been published through the official website.

A preliminary selection round determined the 49 songs on 3 December, 2015. From them must been chose 20 song to be performed at the semifinal of the 2016 edition of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest.

These could be announced during a kick-off edition of the popular TVM programme Xarabank on Friday 11 December, 2015.

The winning artist will represent Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest which will be held in May in Stockholm.
