Louisa Frendo Wirth

Louisa Frendo Wirth born at Sliema on 11 July, 1986. Beside a singer is a Speech Language Pathologist by profession. She has shown an interest in the arts from a young age, where she participated and formed part of the organisation team in many school soirees, cultural activities and productions, both at secondary school and sixth form. Louisa has been received vocal training from 2002-2015, under the tuition of Gillian Zammit and has achieved up to grade 6 in the Trinity-Guildhall School of Music & Drama exams.

She has taken part in every edition since 2002, of the biennial concerts of the philanthropic organisation Voices, as both a choir member and a soloist. Her musical theatre credits include: Masquerade’s Suessical the Musical (2006), where she played the part of a bird girl; MADC’s Christmas pantomime Sinbad the Tailor (2008-9), where she formed part of the chorus; Joseph and the Technicoloured Dreamcoat (2014), held in Malta and Gozo, as a pit singer; and Best of Broadway (2014) as a soloist.

In 2010, Louisa formed part of the Beatles Philharmonic Tribute choir, performing at the Royal Albert Hall in London and she also participated in Concerto di Natale 2010 held at the MCC, Valletta, forming part of the choir. Louisa has formed part of Animae Gospel Choir since 2012, with which she participates in local concerts, workshops, weddings, events and TV appearances.

In 2012, she travelled with Animae to Assisi in Italy for a Gospel Connection conference and in 2014 Animae performed at an event for Malta Day in London. Louisa participated in the Valletta2018 City of Culture Opening Ceremony, forming part of the choir under the direction of Pamela Bezzina, performing an original symphony by Elton Zarb and Joe Julian Farrugia and performed in St. John’s Square, Valletta. She also formed part of the vocal ensemble for the Fireworks Festival held in Valletta in April 2018.

Louisa participated in the annual concerts Rockestra in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2017 & 2018 as a backing vocalist. She participated as a backing vocalist in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest in 2011, 2012 & 2013; and Għanja tal-Poplu (Festival tal-Kanzunetta Maltija) , where she backed he winning song, in 2018. Louisa has also done backing vocals for a number of popular local artists and bands, namely Shilloo’s Tree, Ivan Grech, Red Electrick and Ira Losco. Louisa also sings in local wine bars, restaurants and weddings, as part of a live acoustic duo, together with her father Patrick Wirth.
