Julie Ann Zahra Vocalist ans Actress was born on 25 March 1982 in Malta. She is a classically trained singer who has been actively involved in music from a very young age. Julie took part in many local and international festivals, TV drama, Music videos and theatre. Made her a leading pop singer in Malta and Italy, later embarking on a world tour with performances in the U.K and the United States. Her performance intrigued the BBC commentator Terry Wogan who commented “At last we hear some proper singing”. Julie was raised in Malta and grew up imitating Enya and Mariah Carey urged by her mother Monica who sadly passed away the same year Julie made her debut on TV at age 13. Julie was discovered by her songwriter uncle Joe Julian Farrugia who was impressed by her incredible vocal range and clever ability to interpret songs with her unique twist on phrasing. Julie extended her talents to acting and starred in many TV adverts and was a major character in the most popular TV series in Malta. After gaining a lot of publicity, Julie was offered a contract with Sony BMG in 2004 by which time she had already won various Festivals in Europe and never placed lower than 3rd in anything else. She has also represented her country in the Eurovision Song Contest in Istanbul, Turkey, in May 2004. As part of the duo "Julie & Ludwig",they managed to qualify to the final and came 12th.out of 36 countries competing. Their song, On Again... Off Again was just in the top 12. Julie moved to the UK to expand her singing career and to continue studying Classical voice. She has recently completed her Royal School of Music Grade 8 and is working towards her Diploma. Working with Musical Identity UK Julie has recently launched a single entitled "No one in Heaven" which highlights the change in direction of the singer and her influences. The single can be downloaded from the website named below. In the UK Julie taught at the Performance Academy of Newcastle College and is currently teaching Music and Singing at All Saints College in Newcastle upon Tyne and has been there for over a year. Julie has a sub site in the Musical Identity website accessible at... Julie will be in Malta in the last weekend of August 2009 to perform a selection of unplugged Jazz standards and original numbers Her strong dedication to teaching and classical music led her to pull out of mainstream music to pursue further studies and completed a degree in Sociology and a Post graduate in teaching and moved to the UK shortly after. In the UK Julie restarted her music career showing influences ranging from Jazz to Dance and in 2009 gave an astounding performance of a collection of Jazz and pop numbers in an acoustic setting accompanied by a single guitar. Julie has collaborated with various major players including Roger Waters and Andrea Marongiu and has been working on a new sound with producer Owen Caruana constantly reinventing herself.

Julie has recently announced the release of a new EP to hit the digital stores on the 18th November 2013 in which she is singing a mix of Jazz inspired cool alternative songs entitled “No Loving”. Julie is known for her compelling stage presence and powerful voice, which she uses to belt out power

Julie Zahra recently announced the release of a new EP to hit the digital stores on the 18th November 2013 in which she is singing a mix of Jazz inspired cool alternative songs entitled “No Loving”. Julie is known for her compelling stage presence and powerful voice, which she uses to belt out power, set to be released internationally through Musical Identity UK. "No Loving" is a collection of 7 Cool Alternative songs which showcase the singer’s wide vocal range from the powerful radio friendly “Take me away” to the more mellow piano based “With You”. Julie’s gripping performance includes other world class London based artists such as Crystal Fighter’s drummer Andrea Marongiu, Jazz bassist Lorenzo Bassignani from Groove Razors and Mars Patrol’s keyboardist Matt Baker. Julie has been working on a new sound over recent years and this EP is a taster of more to come including Live performances set to be held in the first quarter of 2014.

The whole project was composed, produced by Owen Caruana at Musical Identity UK studio and mastered at the legendary Abbey Road studios.
