John Bartolo (3 February 1946 - 25 July 2017) was a bass player and builder from Mellieħa, Malta. He was known as “Johnny tat-Tirlikku”.

John was born in St Paul's Bay, one of fourteen siblings, on 3 February 1946 and was married to Ismeria neé Chetcuti. They had three children: James, Mark and Sarah.

In his youth, John used to play accordion, and joined The Rangers beatgroup on bass guitar.
