Joanne Busuttil born on 2 January, 1985. She was brought up in Fleur-de-Lys. She is an Actress.
Joanne is a woman with her own full-time job, as a Kindergarten Teacher, and as a part-time acting plus the most beautiful role in the world – that of being a mother of two kids – Nicholai and Hayley. She was brought up in a family where the need to be discovered was always there and hence to practise one’s talents was always a must!
Joanne attend in several extracurricular activities including singing, volleyball, drama and ballet and jazz. her first theatrical coach was her drama teacher, Ms Rita Vassallo at St. Monica School in Birkirkara. Later, at the age of 10, she started acting with the drama group at Fleur-de-Lys Parish Centre. In the meantime, she was regularly attended drama courses which gave her the opportunity to develop her passion, which is drama, into more than just a hobby.
Joanne first experience on a local TV programme was in Sfida – this was back in 2003. Four years later, at the age of 22, her sister decided to fill up an application for her for Gizelle. The audition itself was an amazing, yet tough experience and she just couldn’t believe her ears when she got the call letting her know that she had been given the part of Katya, an undercover cop on an important mission.
This opportunity was the beginning of her appearance as a main actress in local T.V dramas, such as Emilja, D.R.E.A.M.S and now Katrina. Each character gave her the opportunity to be something that she’s not and that’s the beauty of drama.
