Jason Xuereb born in the island of Malta on 6th of October 1972.

Pianist,Composer, and piano teacher,Jason Xuereb started taking lessons in pianoforte at a young age. During this time he also showed strong inclinations towards composition and lyric writing. As a pianist and composer Jason has performed at various concerts and other events in Malta, including Society of Arts and Commerce debut concert in 1996, University of Malta, musical evenings at the Manoel theatre, and also concerts in Italy in 1997, and Manchester in 2004 and 2005.

His musical versatility Classical, Semi-Classical/pop,lounge,serious contemporary he can be seen through his involvement in both serious music and the pop music scene. He participated in various Maltese Song Festivals, as both composer and lyricist, including Song For Europe 1998, Malta International Song Festival 1998 and 2000. Jason Xuereb has worked with various top local singers, including, Debbie Scerri, and Soprano Claire Caruana. He also collaborated with poet Ray Mahoney. Subsequently Jason won third place in the Malta International Song Festival in 1998 with singer Debbie Scerri.

Jason has worked for song festivals between 1995 and 2007, where experience led him to realize that this was too restrictive musically, so he felt the need to abandon this field in search for a more profound insight and self-awareness.

Later on Jason studied composition with composer Mro.Charles Camilleri, where he regained interest in serious music, particularly 20th century atonality. He also studied counterpoint with Prof.Joseph Vella, harmony with Mro. Dion Buhagiar, and piano technique with Prof.Michael Laus. In summer of 2004 and 2005 Jason attended music courses at Chetham's School Of Music in Manchester, where he attended Masterclasses and received lessons in piano performance with British pianist Colin Stone and composition lessons with composer Ronald Stevenson.

Being a Solo pianist, Jason has more than ten years of experience in entertaining at various leading hotels in Malta, restaurants, as well as wedding events and other occasions. His aim is always that to set the right mood and relaxed atmosphere for his audiences.

Jason obtained a Bachelor's Degree in music composition from the University of Malta in 2006. He is currently teaching piano, and he is also furthering his musical knowledge, particularly in composition under the supervision of artist/musician Pawlu Grech.
