Jason Micallef born in 1971 and comes from Mosta, Micallef was active within the local committees of the Labour Party in Mosta, he organized public meetings and political rallies on behalf of the Party. Between 1987 and 2003.

Jason Micallef occupied the position of producer at the national broadcasting station, Xandir Malta and one of the most popular programmes he was responsible for was Sigar u Pjanti.

In 1994, Jason Micallef was elected on the first count as an Independent Councillor on the first Mosta Local Council. Jason was still 23 when he won his seat on this Council: Jason was Malta’s second youngest Councillor in these elections. When Labour contested local council elections for the first time in 1999, Jason served as Councillor on behalf of the Malta Labour Party from 1999 until 2003. Between 1999 and 2003. Micallef was appointed the minority leader on behalf of the Labour Councillors sitting on the Mosta Local Council. Between 2000 and 2003.

Micallef was elected member of the National Executive of the Labour Party. In 2003, Aged 32 Micallef, became the youngest General Secretary in PL’s history.

In 2009, Jason was appointed Chairman of the Party’s broadcasting stations, One TV & One Radio, as well as ONE’s subsidiary telephony Company, Redtouch.

Jason Micallef will contest the general elections of the 9th of March, 2013 on a Labour ticket.

He is the chairman of V 18 project.
