Insurgence is metal band from Malta was formed by Daniel Buhagiar, James Spiteri and Jolen Galea in June 2006.
The band debuted in 2007 with then vocalist Leo Busutill and keyboardist Nathan Gatt. After a string of promising performances the band went through a few line up changes with Sean Christie joining the band as a second guitarist, Leo making way for Cliff Falzon and shortly after Nathan also left the band.
The band's music and stage performances grew in intensity cementing the bands reputation and place in the local scene featuring gigs alongside many local and some foreign acts, including Fungus Inc. (Belgium), Slab (UK) and Contradiction (Germany).
Insurgence recorded their first demo in the summer of 2009. It received positive feedback. Insurgence built on this and continued to perform locally and recorded a second promo in the summer of 2010.
Insurgence played at the Xtreme Metal Assault 2010 after which Matthew Azzopardi replaced Sean on guitars.
