==Frequently Asked Questions==
=== Guidelines for specific types of pages ===
===Stubs===
* [[Help:Guidelines for pages about song contests|Guidelines for pages about song contests]]
* What is a stub?
* How do we indicate that a page is a stub?
: Quick reading shows that a stub is a user created template. If, for example you set up ''Template:Stub'', you can call the stub template using '''<nowiki>{{Stub}}</nowiki>'''. Best to look at the basic Mediawiki Template help for this [[http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Templates]]. You could in fact use the link here to write the basic template. This would also apply to writing the templates for things like groups, artists, etc. [[User:Stephensd|Stephensd]] 16:50, 17 September 2010 (UTC)
:: I've attempted this (apparently successfully!) on the page for [[Rita Pace]] --[[User:Tonisant|Toni Sant]] ([[User talk:Tonisant|talk]]) 19:41, 22 September 2010 (UTC)

===Cleanup===
== See also ==
* What is a cleanup tag?
* [[:Category:M3P Guidelines]]
: This is for pages that <s>are no longer stubs but</s> don't conform to our (as yet to be written) desired style quality. My first inclusion of the tag (i.e. curly brackets around the word cleanup) is on the page [[Walter Vella]]. --[[User:Tonisant|Toni Sant]] ([[User talk:Tonisant|talk]]) 11:37, 16 October 2010 (UTC)

===Sort order===
* How do I make Joe Borg appear under B in an alphabetical category list, rather than J?
: By default, a page is sorted under the first letter of its full name including the namespace. Also, the MediaWiki software that runs this site groups special characters separately from their regular version, so pages starting by Ġ, Ż, Ċ, etc. will be listed under separate headings, instead of under heading G, Z, C.
: It is possible to set a default sort key which is different from the page name by using the magic word <nowiki>{{DEFAULTSORT}}</nowiki> thus:
<nowiki>{{DEFAULTSORT:Borg, Joe}}</nowiki>
:You simply need to ensure that you enter the appropriate name you want to sort instead of Joe Borg.

===Edit Summary===
'''''Please feel free to ask for help on specific tasks [[Help_talk:Contents|using the discussion/talk page]].'''''
* What is an edit summary?
: An edit summary is a brief explanation of an edit to any page. We don't have further details on this specifically for M3P, but you can view the [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Summary detailed explanation on Wikipedia], which is excellent.
