Clean-up Needed

The text currently on this page needs further work. It was most likely imported or reproduced from a website associated with the subject of the page - possibly through a process involving far-from-perfect machine translation, often with awkward results. It is awaiting the attention of an experienced M3P editor, which could be you. It may be slightly out of date, or may need other elements taken care of appropriately, including proofreading or copy-editing for grammar and style.

The village of Għajnsielem is situated in the small island of Gozo, Malta's sister-island. Malta is situated in the centre of the Mediterranean - 93 km south of Italy and 290 km north of North Africa. Gozo lies about 5 km in the Northwest of Malta and the distance between Ċirkewwa in Malta and l-Imġarr Harbour in Gozo involves a twenty-five minute ferry crossing.

Għajnsielem has a total population of around 3,000 inhabitants and is the first village that meets the eye as soon as one leaves the port of l-Imġarr on the way to the heart of Gozo. While entering the port of l-Imġarr, one cannot miss the formation of the village of Għajnsielem. One can see the Lourdes Chapel with its Gothic style and the niche of Our Lady of Lourdes found underneath. Fort Chambray on the left-hand side dominates the hill and in the background one can see the Parish Church of Għajnsielem. People from Għajnsielem are known as Għajnselmiżi.
