It was him with his brother [[Manwel Mifsud]] and some others youngsters, that who started this festival in 1973 till 1986 for the friends and members of the YTC.  
Together with his brother [[Manwel Mifsud]] and a group of YTC youngsters, he started organising [[L-Għanja tal-Poplu]] in 1973. Until 1986, the festival was open only for YTC members and friends. Then, song submissions were opened to all and the festival became a national event.


And from 1986 the Festival get another step and was organized as on National level.
Till today he was one of the organizing Committee till today.

Fr.Maurice Mifsud

Fr Maurice Mifsud, born in Birkirkara, is the Founder of the Youth Travel Circle and regularly organizes educational and recreational activities for young people.

Together with his brother Manwel Mifsud and a group of YTC youngsters, he started organising L-Għanja tal-Poplu in 1973. Until 1986, the festival was open only for YTC members and friends. Then, song submissions were opened to all and the festival became a national event.
