EnKor Choir at Official Christmas Concert 2015

EnKor is a Maltese choir that aims to promote and perform a variety of genres of music, with the main focus being spiritual and gospel. As a choir, EnKor strives to be a platform for singers and musicians to come together and improve their musical skills in a fun, yet professional, environment.

EnKor was founded back in 2002 by Johanna Van Lent -Singles. Throughout her many years of service to the choir, Johanna has provided us with all the knowledge she had acquired in her home, the Netherlands. In its first 13 years, EnKor performed in many prestigious events all around the Maltese Islands, as well as overseas.

Johanna retired from the choir in May 2015, and ownership was transferred to the choir itself, with 5 members being elected from within to form a committee, including Brian Dimech who took the helm as conductor. The change in management and direction of the choir brought out another side of EnKor that people hadn’t yet seen, which in fact led to a record number of performances during the Christmas season of 2015.

EnKor currently performs in a variety of different occasions, ranging from Presidential events to civil and church weddings. With an array of ever-growing repertoire, EnKor strives to give the best possible rendition of songs in order to make any event enjoyable. Current repertoire includes many popular songs like I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing and A Thousand Years, as well as a number of gospel and spiritual pieces like Go Tell It On The Mountains, Open The Eyes of My Heart and In This House. The choir has even ventured into the genre of Epic music, with their own original song Together as One, as well as an arrangement of the theme song from the very popular series, Game of Thrones.

If you would like to keep up to date with all of EnKor’s events and happenings, you can find the choir on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/EnKorMalta) and on Youtube.
