Elija Galea Tax-Xiħa is an improvised verse folksinger living in Sydney, Australia. He was born in the small village of Għarb, Gozo, hence also being known as Elija Tal-Għarb.

Attempts are being made to integrate the recordings of the Australia-based Maltese folk singing community, within the Maltese national memory project administered by the Malta National Archives.
