Eleanor Spiteri

Eleanor Spiteri (born 19 November 1986) is a Maltese singer.

She carries a BSc. Nursing Degree. However, music has always been the centre of her life. Being brought up in a musical environment, it is no wonder that she started showing interest in music at a very early stage. At the age of 12, her mother encouraged her to audition for the Malta Children's Choir of ActReact, directed by Ray Mangion. That was actually the start of her career. During 5 years with ActReact, she took part in various productions. These include The Magic of Musicals, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Abba-Esque, The Sound of Music and Beatles on my Mind.

After those 5 years with ActReact, she auditioned for the musical 1565-The Great Siege of Malta, produced by Masquerade Theatre Company, directed by Anthony Bezzina, where she played the leading role of Anna. Other productions with Masquerade include Xmas with Beyond the Barricade and Seussical the Musical. She studied voice technique at Gillian Zammit and Antoinette Miggiani.

She has participated in the television programme HOTSPOT on Net TV obtaining 2nd place out of 50 contestants. She was also the main female singer of TV programme Tista' Tkun Int!.

In 2006, Eleanor joined Trilogy to participate for the first time in the Maltasong for Europe with the song This Heart of Mine, composed by Paul Abela and written by Joe Julian Farrugia placing 3rd. The other two members in the trio were Roger Tirazona and Cliff Zammit Stevens. The following year, Daniel Debono replaced Cliff Zammit and their second experience in the Maltasong for Europe landed them 2nd place. Their song was Starlight composed by Paul Abela and penned by Joe Julian Farrugia. After not submitting any songs for the 2008 festival, Trilogy returned to the 2009 contest, with the same line-up as the previous edition singing Abela/Farrugia's song The Song in Your Heart.

In the 2010 Maltasong for Europe, Eleanor took part for the first time as a solo artist with the song Velvet Ocean, composed by Paul Abela and written by Joe Julian Farrugia, placing 5th.

Trilogy returned to the local selection for the Eurovision Song Contest in November 2014. Ludwig Galea replaced Daniel Debono in the line-up. They sang Chasing a Dream by Abela/Farrugia.

In July 2008, Spiteri had the fantastic opportunity to sing the American National Anthem in front of a crowd of 40,000 people at the San Francisco Giants Stadium, also called the AT & T Park.
