Mro. Edgar Lowell twieled il-Ħamrun. Ta’ età żgħira daqq il-klarinett, u għal sitt snin studja taħt l-għajnuna ta’ Giorgio Compagno f’Bormla.

Fl-1925 ingħaqad mal-Orkestra tat-Teatru Rjal bħala Klarinist, tul dak iż-żmien daqq taħt diretturi mużikali differenti.

Edgar Lowell kien ukoll edukat fl-armonija għal tliet snin taħt is-Surmast Gużeppi Stivala u Carmelo Pace. Fl-1938 ġie assenjat bħala assistent surmast tas-Società Filarmonica Nazionale La Valette.

F’La Valette Kien ukoll surmast tal-banda tal-istudenti, Baqa’ f’dawn il-karigi sal-1976.

Bejn l-1968 u l-1970 Edgar Lowell serva bħala aġent surmast tal-banda għall-Banda Nazzjonali.

Fl-1952 Edgar Lowell inħatar surmast tal-banda għall-Għaqda Banda Żejtun, fejn ikkompona bosta marċi funebri kif ukoll marċi festivi. Minbarra dan ġab interess kbir għall-mużika tal-opra li ddominat permezz tal-kunċerti mużikali li saru lejlet il-festa lokali taż-Żejtun.

Edgar Lowell temm il-kariga tiegħu ta’ surmast mal-Banda Żejtun fl-1976.

Bejn l-1958 u l-1970 Edgar Lowell kien ukoll surmast tal-banda tas-Soċjetà Filarmonika La Stella A.D. 1863 f’Għawdex.
