Clean-up Needed

The text currently on this page needs further work. It was most likely imported or reproduced from a website associated with the subject of the page - possibly through a process involving far-from-perfect machine translation, often with awkward results. Dwett

Dwett, is a duo made up of Cherylis Camilleri, and Mikhail Attard, who have been working together since the latter part of the year 2015.

Mikhail has just switched to his twenties, and is a resident in Buġibba. He is currently reading for a degree in Business at Media CAST. Music has always been a part of his life, and he recalls that studying it is second nature to him, since starting around twelve years ago. He is not a new face in the music scene, having reached the final of the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza 2013 together with his cousin Simaria Galea.

As a soloist, he has had several triumphs including at the Microfono d’Oro as well as Cantagiro, both in Italy. In 2017, he took the leap and applied to take part in the Eurovision Song Contest for Romania, getting through to the televised stage with the song “Sail Back” written by Elton Zarb and Emil Calleja Bayliss. The song was well received, and eventually released by CAPSounds.

Cherylis is a resident of Birkirkara, and has recently graduated from the University of Malta with a Bachelor of Arts in Maltese and Psychology, furthering her studies by aiming for a Masters in Maltese. In music, Cherylis has been ever-present during the past sixteen years, singing since the tender age of five. She has taken part in several music competitions throughout the years, having been the winner of the ‘Talent Żagħżugħ’ category of the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza 2010 with the song Nemmen Fik written by Rita Pace.

This appearance came on the back of her qualification into the Malta Junior Eurosong with the song “Hey Yo”, and was then followed by another participation in the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza, this time as part of the ‘Talent Stabbilit’ category. Her song Ħolma ta’ Nazzjon penned by Rita Pace with music by Marco Debono finished in third place.

In 2016, Cherylis worked on a beautiful ballad, entitled Is-Sinjur, which she submitted to L-Għanja tal-Poplu 2016, reaching the semi-final, and eventually the final stage. A music video accompanying the song was recorded later that year. Now in 2017, the female artist is back in the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza 2017 as a soloist with the song “Storja ta’ Suċċess” penned by Paul Ellul with music by Glen Vella.

During this period as a soloist, Cherylis and Mikhail as Dwett made it through to the final of the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza 2016 with the song Bit-Tikketta penned by Rita Pace with music by Marco Debono apart from being semi-finalists at the Malta Eurovision Song Contest and L-Għanja tal-Poplu. They have gone from strength to strength since their inception.

On 18 September, 2018 Dwett taken part in Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza 2018 with the song Miraġġ lyrics by Paul Ellul and music by Mark Scicluna.

On September, 2020 Dwett taken part in Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza 2020 with the song Nibdew Familja lyrics by Emil Calleja Bayliss and music by Jason Paul Cassar.
