Domenique Azzopardi

Domenique Azzopardi (born 7 April 1995) is a Maltese pop singer.

She began taking lessons and analyzing the technique of the voice with the Maltese singer and teacher Phyllisienne Brincat when she was 4 years old.

The talent of singing helped her to overcome her weaken shell. Domenique states that singing was the best therapy,to prevail over this weakness. Among the teachers that she learned from, we can find the Maltese singer and teacher Priscilla Psaila. Among the foreign teachers, we find the famous SLS teacher Joshua Alamu.

Domenique gained success and awards inside the island of Malta and also in foreign countries like Tunis,Italy, and Romania. She had the opportunity to record several songs in Germany with the company 'Jupiter Records' led by the famous Ralph Siegel and also inside Vienna with the author and composer Mathias Strasser.

In her mother country she gained many experiences. Amongst them, She was involved in and on Maltese programmes, conderts & Showcases like the famous Maltese Rock Opera “Ġensna”, “The Michel Jackson Tribute”, “The Animae Gospel Choir Concert”, “Bravi”, “Sas-Sitta Teen Singing Challenge” and much more, she entered up to the semi-final of the 'Malta Eurovision Song Contest' when she was only 15 years old with the song “I’ll Follow The Sunshine” and after placing in the 3rd position at the 'Konkors Kanżunetta Indipendenża 2012'. with the song “Tama u Kuraġġ”.

In February she ended up being with the last 16 th finalist of the ‘Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2013’. Domenique was shortlisted to audition in London in the well-known showcase ‘Britian’s Got Talent’, held by the Simon Cowell company.

In September 2013 she take part in "Konkors Kanżunetta Indipendenża 2013" with the song "B'Ħarsitna 'L Fuq" music by Mark Spiteri Lucas and lyrics by Paul Ellul and win two prizes The Best Performance and the Televoting, and in the festival she finished in twelved place jointly with other three songs, Fejn Hemm L-Għaqda, Hemm Is-Saħħa by Christian Arding,Nibqa by Janice Mangion and Int Kont Hemm by Daniel Muscat with 67 points. Currently, Domenique is the new addition in the TVM programme Sibtek where she is the one of the resident singer from September till June 2013, Domenique was the new addition in the famous programm “Sibtek” and also on the programme “Bejnietna L-Ħbieb” from October 2013 until June 2014.

She believes that the road of success is appreciated only when you have tasted the bitter side of the career, and also in keeping your feet on the ground.
