She began her musical journey at 6 years old, studying with Doreen Galea and participating in many song festivals, performing mainly in Maltese and Italian.
The last festival she took part in was way back in 2005 where she performed the song ‘Ħaddiema Flimkien’ in the Fl-Għaqda l-Melodija 2004 festival.
After a long hiatus, Deborah recently decided to return to the world of performing.
Since August 2015, she has been studying vocal technique, being coached by Claire McCartin.
And in March 2016, she attended the musical theatre workshop "A week in the life" organised by DLS Productions, set in the Margaret Howard Theatre College, London. There, she got an idea of what it's like to spend a week in the shoes of a real performer-in-training in London. The jam-packed timetable consisted of different dance styles, acting improvisation, solo singing and also the integration of acting and singing.
In July 2016 Deborah took part for the first time in the L-Għanja tal-Poplu 2006 – (Festival Kanzunetta Maltija) with the song Ma Ninsiex lyricis by Joe Julian Farrugia and composed by Augusto Cardinali. She passed from the Semi-Finali held on Thursday 7 July, 2016 but she did’nt made it,for the Final Night held on Saturday 9 July, 2016.
